I accidentally "forgot" my internet connection for my home (done by following path: network-manage known networks - forget this network?) now every time I want to connect to the internet it asks for my password instead of entering it automatically. How do I fix this???

From what i am reading the forget option is more for forgetting a old network.

My best recommendation is that you rename your network and change the password. 

If you do this you should be able to have your password automatically saved if i diagnosed your issue properly.

Hi,

check as the following steps:

open search, type "services.msc" open services.
Scroll down to "wlan auto config" right click, stop the service.

Navigate to
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Wlansvc\ delete everything in this folder  leaving only a folder called "profiles" delete everything in the "profiles" folder except for a folder called "interfaces" delete everything in the "interfaces" folder)

Restart "wlan auto config" connect to your wireless network, enter
your passkey, (ensure the connect automaticly box is checked)
  
Restart your computer job done, your computer will now connect to your wireless network automaticly on boot.

I've done that - The profile is not stored  - it is deleted and I can't find it anywhere to undelete.

I thought you were on to something with your suggestion but it still asks me for my password every time my computer "wakes up".

It doesn't show up as a "profile" - Is there a "deleted profile" folder somewhere??

Try a troubleshooter?  I'm not sure that this is the same thing but I had a similar issue with wireless each time it came out of sleep I had to connect again.  I don't think it asked for a password though, just wouldn't start automatically.  Anyway, the IE troubleshooter was the only one which figured out that somehow the connection had become manual only and would I like this fixed?  IMO the troubleshooters for wireless are depressingly weak and not well designed.

Alternatively, supposedly there are traces that we could use to do our own troubleshooting analysis phase.

Sounds like you will have to go into manage wireless networks from here you should be able to see any networks you have joined in the past.

If your network does not broadcast ssid you will have to configure it manually to do this you will need to have the credentials for your wireless AP.

you should also make sure your wireless discovery is switched on in advanced file sharing 

Finally if you are asked for the password each time you to log on this means you need to configure the way you log on to your network in the security set-up for that network 

Have you considered have somebody help the through a remote desktop ? this maybe another option for you something like teamview would be fine

Problem solved. Go to the recycle bin, You can easily see the files (profiles) you deleted. Right click on them and click properties. Find the one with the earliest date and restore it. Bam! only took a minute!
